​‘TODAY’ Show plans visit to Yellowstone in Great American Road Trip

​Starting May 20 all five anchors of the TODAY show will be traveling together in the Great American Road Trip--including a stop in Yellowstone National Park. The team will visit five U.S. destinations in a single week. Look for their visit in Yellowstone on May 21 where they will hike, fish and camp in the national park. Follow the fun on Twitter, Facebook and instagram using the hashtag #TODAYAdventure.


Social Media Wyoming Road Trip Campaign
Launches in June

​The Wyoming Office of Tourism Social Media contest for the summer campaign promoting the Road Trip Photo Challenge launches June 3.

The contest will run for eight weeks ending August 2. Participants are encouraged to submit their favorite road trip photo for a chance to win one of four Wyoming road trips. Photos can be of any road trip but state visitor centers and chambers are encouraged to have people post while on their vacation.

Participants can enter through WOT’s Facebook page at http://www.facebook.com/visitwyoming or by using the hashtag #RoadTripWY on Twitter or Instagram.

​“Longmire” on A&E Season 2 set to launch May 27

​The hit A&E cable series “Longmire” is set to premiere its second season Monday, May 27.

The series is set fictional Absaroka County in Wyoming and is based on Wyoming author Craig Johnson’s Walt Longmire book series.

In conjunction with the launch of Season 2 and the release of Season 1 on DVD on May 28, the Wyoming Office of Tourism’s Film Office and Consumer Marketing department are running Longmire sweepstakes on WOT’s Facebook page, http://www.facebook.com/visitwyoming.
With the help of A&E and the Buffalo Chamber of Commerce, the sweepstakes will grant one lucky winner and a guest a trip to Longmire Day in Buffalo on Aug. 3. Five second place winners will get Longmire Season 1 on DVD.

​Filmmaker Mark Christian Wins Short Film Contest

​“Requited,” a short film written and shot by Mark Christian and directed by Madeline Puzzo, is the winner of this year’s Wyoming Short Film Contest. Shot on location in Benson, Ariz. and Bedford, Pa, the film is set in The Territory of Wyoming in 1875. A western, the short tells a classic frontier story of crime, betrayal, and vengeance.
